My spouse is a dev, she has very similar considerations as the ones you shared here… as far as I’m able to understand your post as well as what she tells me because, well, I’m not a dev. Not at all ;)

BTW, as a lifelong but ex-Mac user, thx a lot for NetNewsWire and for MarsEdit: loved them. I will not say I also were using OmniOutliner but who knows ;)

Shortcuts.app does some of what the author complains about. I have several automatically updating scripts in there. The UI is a bit basic form them though.
