Would kinda make sense, around 2015 was the time when these things were starting to get fairly common in high end cars. 2015 was also a facelift year for the second gen Cayenne, so it may well be that they introduced new features. I’m assuming a lot of those cars are Cayennes, because it’s the most commonly sold model and the stereotypical cars of New Russians are luxury cars and SUVs, not sports cars. Though of course that is just a stereotype.
I don’t remember which year sims become mandatory in cars in EU, but know that it did happen in last decade. General idea was an ability to call emergency that will receive GPS location of an incident. That alone probably saved thousands of lives so I personally see good in that. But Porsche’s implementation with immobilizer is kind of weird. Cars can stop while being operated which is dangerous as fuck even if car is really stolen. Like if you have immobilizer fob that you forgot in your garage and your car seize to work on an active highway. That can cause some major incidents alone.

The whole stop while operated is weird, maybe a bug? I’d consider it more normal if they only refused to start. Sorta like an enhanced security system because immobilizer fobs can be bypassed, particularly on cars with Keyless Go.
I actually had a car with Keyless Go and it just kept going if the key wasn’t there. Wouldn’t restart if you stopped it, but it would never stop (though I never tried what would happen if you had Start-Stop enabled and the engine stopped for that)

They just refer to dumb rich people, with the implication being that they got riched in the looting of people’s wealth after the collapse of the soviet union, since most of the jokes originate from the 1990s and early 2000s… Let me know if you want to hear a few lol
