How do you backup the machine itself in case the main hard drive (where the OS and other core files live) fails?
Would it require taking the hdd out and using another computer to create an image? Or is there a app that would create an image file that I can store on anothe computer?
What I’m trying to achieve is this:
-
One day the self hosted pc doesn’t start - turn out the HDD failed!
-
Not a problem - I take another HDD, restore my latest image, swap out the hdds and it’s like nothing happened!
I’m cutious what your approach is - I don’t have any critical information on this HDD, it would simply be a pain to re-install and re-configure all apps etc
