Well at least that’s good tbf.
Migrating here (or maybe keeping both) from @ArcaneSlime@lemmy.ml
Will put an eternal curse on your enemies for a Cinemageddon invite.
Well at least that’s good tbf.
Even if it’s not compatible, “ok then where’s my damn refund?”
Basically theft, really.
On the other hand, I didn’t realize that EAC would prevent Linux users from playing entirely.
For the most part any game that “won’t run on linux” totally would if it wasn’t for the anticheat not working (or being supported) on linux, that’s usually the downfall. For instance Destiny runs fine, but if they see you’re using linux they ban your acct because fuck you that’s why. Tbf, even if the anticheat would work it’s usually kernel level spyware that linux users mostly refuse to run, so eh.
Good.
It’s possible that it could, but could also not. I’d be curious to find out what would happen but unfortunately the feds won’t let me run tests on semtex because I don’t have “the proper permits.” Jerks.
Maybe we’ll see someone with a license to manufacture destructive devices, like OrdinanceLab on YT, do a video on it (fingers crossed!)
Heads up, I don’t think C4 explodes when burned. I think it requires electronic detonation or a blasting cap.
JFC Christ, does anyone know where the nearest ATM Machine is?
You don’t have a authority that decides what is useful and useless, what gets produced and what doesn’t.
Well sort of, the “authority” in the case of a truly free market is The Market (or The People, if you will.) If it sells it sells, if it doesn’t it doesn’t, The Market will decide.
That said, I agree with the rest of your statement and realize that you meant authority in a truer sense, and I in more of a metaphorical sense.
Duh. They use phones mostly. A lot of the gen z people I know are just as bad as boomers with tech. Millennials and gen x had that sweet spot of “actually having to learn how shit works not just iphone go brrr.”
Yess YEESSS! Gabba gabba we accept you, one of us! One of us!
Something like that, yeah. They don’t all notify.
I know that, you know that, many know that, but many don’t. Imo they should be required to inform you, preferably with a splash screen on boot or something similar that says “monitored by XXXXX” or something. Especially for things like schools where it’s more likely kids won’t know it (and will be more likely to become privacy advocates for life from knowingly having theirs violated.)
Honestly if you figured out lemmy you can figure out linux at least enough not to be a 95yo about it.
Use a distro that is both popular and good for beginners, like Fedora or it’s KDE spin, or Mint. There will be learning, there probably will be troubleshooting, you’re switching from something you’ve always been familiar with to a new thing, it is unavoidable. It’s like moving to Mexico, you’ll need to pick up at least a little Spanish. It’s really not as hard as people make it seem, most questions will be solved by searching the problem and pasting in a terminal command, but it’s good to learn what those commands do over time. It might benefit you to use the computer more often while learning if possible.
Do it, you’ll be fine!
That’s how it starts. Gabba gabba we accept you, one of us, one of us.
I’ve been known to watch a fight video there every now and again, yes.
Right, reverse racism and misandry are just plain ol’ prejudice.
I guess it’s up to you whether you think being prejudice is only bad if you belong to the group systemically in power, or if you think being prejudice against someone for the circumstances of their birth is bad regardless of either party’s systemic stature, but we should be correct in our use of language.
Praise “Bob!” For we have Slack…ware! I actually haven’t tried it yet because I’m a new user running fedora and Slackware still seems above my paygrade, but as an avowed SubGenius and linux user, it is my destiny to try. I have an old laptop to try it whenever it will bring me Slack, I’m saving this thread for information purposes, thank you. PRA’BOB
(For the uninitiated, the creator of Slackware is also a SubGenius and thus he created it in the name of “Bob.”)
Ok cool thanks, I’ll probably go with something on this list then. My other things I was looking at were the Turris Omnia and the Peplink B-one, but tbh a lynksys with openwrt will likely serve me fine.
Thanks! Just to be sure, the router company becomes inconsequential when I install openwrt, or am I mistaken?
As in say I buy a linksys router and install openwrt, linksys can no longer spy on my traffic, so I shouldn’t worry about that, right?
And put grapheneOS on it.
Btw I’ve never been charged to look at a phone and I have two pixels, assuming their claim is accurate either the other poster was being scammed or they were buying it online and the online store wanted a deposit to prevent theft or cover damages before shipping it so they could “see it” (which isn’t something I’ve ever heard of but I suppose it is possible.) Either way I doubt it has much to do with the pixel itself, but I could be wrong I suppose, it has happened before.
