I bound ~/ to one of my keyboards G-keys. Still not optimal placement wise but way better than the AltGr-route.
Unfortunately $ also requires pressing the damned AltGr.
Thanks for the tip, but escaping and unescaping sounds tedious, since I use spaces in both directory and file names.
What I like about aliases here is that I have one central location to set them up and change them. If I ever were to forget what aliases I have it’s just about opening the file and looking.
Thanks, but the problem with this is that I’ll type /media/docs/whatever much faster than hunt the ~ from my keyboard because I have to move my whole hand to do so.
It’s altGr + ^ on my keyboard.

Just to get subtitles in any language as nicely as with Plex? Get out.

Maybe someone doesn’t even use the arr stack.

Last time I compared the Plex handled finding and using subtitles so much more user friendly than Jellyfin.

I started with Proxmox with zero Linux or self hosting knowledge and slowly built up what I need. It wasn’t always easy, but not that hard either.

Please don’t throw Molotov cocktails at houses, it’s not good for the environment and there may be innocent animals inside.
Throw Molotov cocktails at tech bros and corporate assholes. And politicians, please don’t forget to throw Molotov cocktails at politicians.

Are the developers needs met really though?

Only problem with communism is that humans are unable to practice it without turning to fascistic practices. As an idea it is beautiful. “To each according to their needs.”
You don’t need an amazing rig to do this. Don’t get fooled by the content creators with their sponsored content. Learn and buy only after researching what you need. Build for your own needs not to some crazy spec someone on the YouTube tells you need. A simple old pc with right software and working backup solution is all you really need. Just learn how to make it work safely.
An infinite slop loop that nobody can untangle.
