Finally, AI I can get behind.

Looks promising. If I can buy it with Linux, that’s a plus. And turn off the touchscreen.

Why not install Linux on your MacBook?

The pessimist sees the notch as wasted space, the optimist sees it as extra screen.

You don’t use macOS do you? Any apps that have that many items on the menu bar are simply pushed to the right of the notch. There is 2” of blank menu bar in 99% of all use cases.
And if you still don’t like it, you bump the uninterrupted menu bar under the notch fully and everything above it (to the left and right of the notch) black as if there’s a bezel.

Opus is what I’m encoding my working library to. I like ripping to flac (and archiving them as such), but the advantages to smaller file sizes for the working library are worth it for me. So far, I’m really liking the format.
I keep the archive on spinning hard drives, but the opus library on ssd (which makes browsing much quicker, and no unnecessary spinning up the hard drives.)

As far as I’ve read, the database is largely low bitrate files, and some AI. The value here is metadata and preservation of “rare” music.

I agree the “harm” is small. But when the benefit is zero and the harm non-zero, the author is wasting our collective time.

I’ll never not downvote comments that unnecessarily use characters like “Þ” instead of actual words.
Minecraft server.
I remember learning about Shamir’s secret sharing, and indeed the concept is fascinating. I’m not sure passwords is the best use case of something like that, but I’m not completely against it in theory.
So your solution to password theft is to make sure other people have them?

Surely you mean 2A?

Incapable of expressing your option?

What do you get out of judging people for spending their own money?
It’s an optional service, not baked into the core product.
I’m the “anti-ai” person in my group of friends. Which isn’t strictly true, I’m bearish on AI, not wholly anti. I find Kagi’s separation appropriate, and actually finds some use (and better results than ChatGPT) with their AI assistant. It’s particularly useful for me debugging simple scripts and excel formulas.
It isn’t perfect overall, but well worth the few bucks each month. It’s one of the only subscriptions I’m not actively trying to get rid of.

I’m dangerously close to moving my gaming pc to Linux. What’s the consensus for the best distro for gaming?
I’m comfortable enough with *nix, as my daily is MacOS and I have a home lab/server.

The fact that this FSD mode comes with “more frequent lane changes” means it isn’t just keeping up with traffic. It’s designed to go faster than traffic. Stop making herr Elon’s points for him.

Not EU based, and not free, but I’ve been loving Kagi.
The touch version is higher res and OLED.
