Technology@lemmy.world•CPU shortage is 'getting more serious day by day, no less than the memory chip situation' says unnamed gaming PC companyEnglish
5·3 days agoI’ve had the motherboard sitting around collecting dust for awhile. I was looking into buying a NAS until I realized it was a ripoff. Figured why not build a system around POS from 2011.

2·8 days agoI need the better options. I need to be able to detect corruption. ZFS and btrfs let me do that. It’s part of the reason why I couldn’t use Windows even if I wanted to.

Technology@lemmy.world•Manjaro Linux Team Goes on Strike, Threatens to Fork the ProjectEnglish
6·10 days agoAs a former Manjaro user, it has some issues. It has weird bugs that aren’t present in any other Arch-based distro. Pamac ddosing the AUR is pretty bad as well. I’m thankful I used it as long as I did though. It got me hooked on Arch based distros. Everything else feels antiquated now. Actually, Void Linux is kinda cool

Linux@lemmy.ml•New to linux, installed Ubuntu but have issues every restart.English
1·14 days agoWelcome to Linux. We hope you enjoy your stay. That being said I’m wondering if It would work better in Debian. Linux Mint Debian Edition is basiclly a better Ubuntu. Ubuntu has weird bugs from what i’ve heard. I had a GTX series card and I always had problems with it. I had less issues on Arch based distros however. Maybe CachyOS or Garuda Linux might work better? Also, just a friendly warning Linux users like to argue with each other in the comments but it’s just how we show our love for each other. As for things (wi-fi) working one day and then broken the next I only had happen on Ubuntu based distros. Do with that what you will. I hope someone else here has better advice. Best of luck and feel free to ask questions if you actually read my rambalings for some reason.
