Don’t have to tell me, I just tried summoning quillbeasts while looking at health bars
I don’t know, mine keep breaking every few years around the device. I think it’s because I sometimes grab the phone without realizing I was charging it
The piece of paper is basically much more likely to survive in a corner barring a fire. I have crumpled pieces of paper from 20 years ago. My PATA hard drive… I don’t even have a computer with that connector
Yeah, but at least it’s not always online
I remember sending a Facebook message on my feature phone. I had to type with the num pad and it took minutes to load the page, but it I was successful.
I think people are forgetting that feature phones were connected to the internet back in the day
Then I can’t message anyone since people use messaging clients like signal and not actual texts
NixOS is super easy. It gets a bit complicated when you use flakes, but you don’t need to to start.
You just put the system packages into the configuration so you can replicate that system everywhere.
But if you don’t care, just install everything to the user profile! It just works like any distro then, no config files to mess with
The first power spike you will experience is actually setting up a service like Jellyfin by just editing the configuration.nix, though. It’s so much easier than having to mess with the configuration yourself (someone already did the work for you)
When the page doesn’t fit on the phone, it’s really stupid to zoom and scroll around to get stuff done.
I control my qBittorrent with a web interface and it’s way easier with a bigger screen. I don’t have to go grab the laptop, I can unfold the screen that’s already in my hand
It was standardized as ATA, some people calling it PATA or IDE to distinguish it from the newer SATA standard
But I remembered wrong, it was a similar IDC connector for the floppies with a different amount of pins
I play multiplayer online games, there’s really no “done” if you compete with other people
I was more successful running witcher 2 with the windows installer on the steam deck than with the linux one.
You don’t need to, you can play offline. You just need to call home every 30 days to keep the remastered graphics since the base game is free to play now
So we need Steam Box. Steam Deck just works 99% of the time. I can only complain about the desktop mode being buggy and non-steam games being a pain in the ass to install.
These days a good GPU costs almost $700 just by itself, mid range is almost $500, value is $400, budget is $250
The 4060 or the 7600xt are about in the ballpark for the original ps5, but you can’t beat the price if you don’t already have a computer with most of the components
Playing witcher 2 at decent FPS only gives me 2 hours on the original steam deck
Only if you don’t have one already. Some of the more intense games graphically have shit upscaling so they shimmer. If higher internal resolution can fix this while running at good FPS, it might be worth it for some people
Remember that you still can’t build a gaming PC for $700 that performs similarly.
Floppy drives connect to the PC via ATA. I don’t have that connector in my computer
People are not growing poorer, they are growing richer
