And those generally use different ISPs for fiber and often get restored first or dont go down at all since they are commercial contracts. In the event of a total internet cut, it is well known that a house does not change ownership very often, so the lock could be programmed to not accept any new keys for a period like a day. The lock would accept only the old key during that time like a cooldown period

I do see potential use for them, but not in the way they are currently being used. I could see uses like door keys, tickets, memberships, etc being of practical value, but not stupid little pictures.

No, i am saying that even though it is volitile it has people who will use it anyway. I am personally a monero user and i buy some on a monthly basis (id really love to get paid in it) and then pay my bills with it, spend it on things i want, and do it all again next month. I really don’t have to concern myself with the price because i am organically using it and will get more in a few weeks no matter what the price does.
The reason this article exists is because the price as measured in blood money is 26k. If it were 60k a whole different tune would be playing about how great of an idea it was. Actually imo its better now than at its high because moon boys want little to do with it while people who really understand why it exists use it just fine.
Started using Linux in 2010 on a virtual machine on a Windows XP machine that was really not meant to run it and it was God awful. But I knew that it was the virtual machine not Linux itself. After that I was using my laptop for school and a Windows update completely broke it and I absolutely had to use it for the next class that I was going to in like five minutes and I had a flash drive with a live Linux environment already on it and so I just used that. However, once I was done with class that day, my first thought was why should I even go in and attempt to fix this Windows machine when Linux has been working fine for me all day. And so I just went ahead and wiped the disk and ran the installer. And I’ve been using Linux ever since. I do generally keep a Windows virtual machine around, just in case, but it’s extremely rare that I’ve ever needed to use it.
