You ever feel like everyone in the world is taking crazy pills except for you?

Those numbers can be quite skewed considering their definition of a “farm” is one that generates as little as $1000 in revenue per year, so anyone with a few chickens in their suburban backyard that sells eggs to their coworkers would fall under this definition. They even outline that 80% of these small family farmers have full-time jobs outside of farming. They also claim giant companies are “family owned” simply because a few family members control a majority stake. One could call Walmart or News Corp “family owned businesses” using this same definition and claim Walmart is a tiny portion of the retail space because there are 500k individuals selling keychains on Etsy versus their single company.
Agricultural land isn’t cheap either which is why most farms are owned by massive corporations these days. They’ve bought up most of the good growing land.
It’s been the same in Oregon for years. The only reason why this crop was ever expensive and grown primarily indoors is that it was illegal and now with enough distance from illegality and enough competition, the price plummets. Your state may start implementing license and growing restrictions to counteract this as they’ve done here because the state loves their tax revenue and wouldn’t want to jeopardize this cash cow.
They will with batteries since the EU is forcing the issue starting in 2026.
Literally the first line says the Biden Administration is giving them $825 million.
also suffered irreparable manufacturing defects. The new lineup is essentially more of the same.
This chip is manufactured by TSMC, so that’d be on them.
That’ll work excellent for all those people trying to find tutorial videos for ‘XYZ’ when you have no verification data to determine whether it’s even a legit tutorial.
People aren’t using Robinhood to invest in index funds via their 401k, they’re using it to “day trade” which is just gambling. Nobody is saying that investing = gambling, they’re saying that buying and selling shares or options in a single company in order to time the market = gambling.
“Possibility” but not an “actuality” since share prices are typically based on the feelings of major investors and not necessarily what’s actually happening within a company.
Definitely not as well but you can still use them. Cars didn’t even have vacuum assisted brakes up into the 1960s and 1970s
I think they’re talking about the new Hummer EV.
A vehicle shutting down in the middle of the freeway can easily cause multiple accidents.
but the observed pattern does 100% apply to other things.
Sure, if you retroactively go back and look for patterns where it matches something but that isn’t a very useful exercise.
There aren’t. Mercedes system only works in two states on freeways during the daytime on sunny days at speeds below 40MPH with clearly marked lines and no construction. There are so many qualifiers that it’s basically useless outside of the attention grabbing headlines.
Which can be a failure in itself when you spend 10 years and tens of billions building something “perfectly” only for it to break on its maiden voyage. That makes you wonder what was the point of doing everything so methodically when they could have taken a more efficient and iterative approach.
Third-party ECUs are already wildly popular items (Holley Sniper and Terminator along with less popular third-party products).
Also, your car being an automatic isn’t the difficult part of the conversion, having to fabricate the parts to adapt the drivetrain and battery are.
Edison is working with Deboss Garage (youtube) to build electric and hybrid electric conversions for passenger trucks too.
Not familiar with this particular paper but transistors are good at acting as switches for higher powered loads so I wonder if these ultra tiny ones can be used to power on slightly less tiny versions which can handle larger circuits.
