TVs were better back then. they were more durable (The Wiimote accidents would never send a CRT to the dump), and actually repairable. and they lasted decades. Hell, I’ve seen people find CRT TVs found abandoned in fields for years and bring them back with minimal effort. as long as the tube/neck of a CRT is intact, it will run/be repairable.
